NIAS is looking for a new student assistant

Interesting and demanding student job on the CSS campus
NIAS - Nordic Institute for Asian Studies, a centre under the Department of Political Science, is looking for a student worker to assist with NIAS’ activities, services and online library. NIAS main focus is to conduct research and dissemination with a focus on modern Asia.

The tasks include scheduling our podcasts, updating our websites, sending out e-newsletters, facilitating Zoom events, maintain our social media feeds, assisting at NIAS events and receiving guests and help maintain our electronic library resources. We are a small unit and may need help with various incidental administrative and practical tasks: no two days will be exactly the same. The workplace will be at the NIAS office, at University of Copenhagen, City Campus.

Essential qualifications

  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
  • Good IT skills
  • Familiarity with social media and communication technologies
  • Good social skills
  • The ability to work independently and systematically
  • Familiarity with Asia or Asian Studies is an advantage, but not a requirement

The job is carried out in close collaboration with the Assistant Director, librarian and the rest of the staff.

Salary and employment
This position entails up to 15 working hours per week.

Employment and payment is determined by the applicable Danish state sector industrial agreement. To be employed, it is a prerequisite that you are enrolled and an active student at a higher education institution.
